HD Hyundai Chemical is a petrochemical company established in 2014 through a strategic joint venture between HD Hyundai Oilbank and Lotte Chemical. It refines 130,000 barrels of condensate daily to produce and sell petroleum products and mixed xylene (MX). The MX produced is supplied to HD Hyundai Cosmo as a raw material, thereby creating group-wide synergies through the vertical integration of the BTX business.

HD Hyundai Chemical produces its products based on three main facilities: crude oil refining equipment that produces naphtha, kerosene, and diesel; BTX production facilities that produce mixed xylene and benzene from reformate; and petrochemical production facilities that use T-DAO, heavy naphtha, and off-gas to produce polyethylene and polypropylene.
