HD Construction Equipment to Issue High-Voltage & Safety Management Certifications for Construction Machinery

▶ Korea’s first certification for electrified construction equipment, meeting national technical qualification standards. ▶ Aimed at cultivating future technical talent and enhancing on-site safety for construction machinery and industrial vehicles. HD Construction Equipment will begin issuing government-authorized certifications for high-voltage handling and safety management of electrified machinery. HD Construction Equipment announced on Friday, the 13th, that it has been selected by the Human Resources Development Service of Korea (HRDK), under the Ministry of Employment and Labor, as an official operator of the "Government-Recognized Corporate Qualification System." It is a certification framework established by the Korean government to grant official recognition to specialized job qualifications created and managed by private companies. HD Construction Equipment will conduct qualification testing for "High-Voltage Handling and Safety Management for Construction Equipment (LV.1 & LV.2)," focusing on electric machinery like excavators and forklifts. This is the first certification of its kind for electrified construction equipment in Korea, reflecting the industry's move toward electrification. The certification process will be managed through the "Training-Evaluation-Certification" program at HD Construction Equipment’s Global Training Center in Eumseong. Qualifications are awarded to candidates who complete a practical curriculum and pass both written and hands-on examinations. Since 2024, HD Construction Equipment has collaborated with HD Hyundai XiteSolution to develop qualification categories. Moving beyond basic training methods, the company has implemented a government-authorized testing framework that includes rigorous evaluation and verification. The LV.2 grade requires a level of technical expertise equivalent to a National Technical Qualification (Craftsman level). Holders of this certificate gain the skills necessary to perform independent maintenance and safety management under "Live-line" conditions. Additionally, HD Construction Equipment plans to further develop these categories up to LV.4 (Master Craftsman level) and expand the range of authorized certification fields. "The introduction of this certification program will enable us to proactively adapt to technological shifts and ensure on-site safety," said an official at HD Construction Equipment. "We are dedicated to cultivating a workforce with world-class technical expertise."
