HD Hyundai Construction Equipment is strengthening its market position by obtaining significant orders from the Middle East and Türkiye in early 2025.
 
The company announced on Tuesday (4th) that it secured orders for a total of 557 construction equipment units from major Middle Eastern countries and Türkiye during January and February this year. This represents more than 40% of these regions' total annual sales volume last year.
 
By region, 333 units were ordered from Middle Eastern countries including Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Qatar, while 224 units were ordered from Türkiye. The company plans to sequentially supply these products, primarily mid-to-large 20-30 ton excavators, to each region by the first half of this year.
 
HD Hyundai Construction Equipment has been implementing localized sales strategies in anticipation of recovering demand for construction equipment as major Middle Eastern countries pursue industrial diversification strategies in tourism, urban development, and mineral extraction.
 
Saudi Arabia has secured a series of major international events including the 2027 AFC Asian Cup, 2029 Asian Winter Games, 2030 World Expo, and 2034 World Cup. The UAE continues to expand investments in non-oil sectors such as gas, logistics, and aviation, moving away from its traditionally oil-centered economy.
 
Despite experiencing a construction downturn after hosting the 2022 World Cup, Qatar is now implementing its Third National Development Strategy (2024-2030), which includes northern gas field expansion projects and national transportation and urban infrastructure development, suggesting renewed demand for new equipment as construction activities increase.
 
HD Hyundai Construction Equipment secured these orders by quickly identifying demand for large projects through its Dubai branch in the UAE, offering customized equipment and service packages to customers, and leveraging its ability to supply parts rapidly through its Dubai logistics center.
 
In the UAE, a significant mineral resource holder in the Middle East, the company achieved entry into the UAE mining equipment market with its first sale of an 80-ton ultra-large excavator.
 
HD Hyundai Construction Equipment plans to diversify its product portfolio to strengthen its competitiveness in the Middle East. The company will launch a large block handler (HL985ABH) optimized for stone carrying operations at the International Marble Fair in Türkiye in April. In May, it will host large-scale customer events in Saudi Arabia and the UAE to launch new Backhoe Loader products in the Middle East market.
 
A representative from HD Hyundai Construction Equipment stated, "Our efforts to strengthen our sales network and provide customized solutions to meet customer requirements have led to these achievements," adding that "we will further strengthen our position in the Middle East market by enhancing our product competitiveness."
