HD Hyundai Construction Equipment is cultivating brilliant talent and supporting small and medium-sized partner companies to respond to the paradigm shift in future construction mobility proactively.
 
HD Hyundai Construction Equipment (CEO Choi Cheol-gon) announced on Thursday (13th) that it held an opening ceremony for the ‘Industrial Transition Joint Training Center’ at its Global Education Center in Eumseong, Chungbuk on Wednesday (12th).
 
The opening ceremony was attended by approximately 60 people, including HD Hyundai Construction Equipment CEO Choi Cheol-gon, Ministry of Employment and Labor’s Vocational Competency Policy Bureau Director Lim Young-mi, Human Resources Development Service of Korea’s Capability Development Director Kim Kyu-seok, Gumi University President Lee Seung-hwan, and Tech University of Korea President Hwang Su-seong.
 
The Industrial Transition Joint Training Center is a vocational skills development training platform supported by the Ministry of Employment and Labor. Utilizing HD Hyundai Construction Equipment’s educational infrastructure, the center trains industry workers and job seekers in △unmanned and remote construction equipment technology △eco-friendly power sources such as electric batteries, hydrogen engines, and hydrogen fuel cells △carbon reduction practices for construction equipment (ESG), and more.
 
HD Hyundai Construction Equipment has established eco-friendly excavator classrooms, a future technology exhibition hall, content production studio, VR and AR experience zones, and an auditorium across two floors with a total area of 2,244㎡ (approximately 700 pyeong) within the existing Eumseong Global Education Center. Additionally, the company has renovated separate driving and welding classrooms covering 330㎡ (about 100 pyeong).
 
The Industrial Transition Joint Training Center helps employees of small and medium-sized companies with inadequate training conditions and job seekers to enhance their understanding of future construction equipment technologies and adapt to industrial changes.
 
The center plans to train more than 1,500 students annually and build additional educational infrastructure through government funding of approximately 2 billion won by 2028.
 
HD Hyundai Construction Equipment signed an ‘Industry-Academic Cooperation Agreement for Cultivating Construction Equipment Talent’ with Gumi University and Tech University of Korea along with the opening ceremony.
 
The institutions plan to collaborate on new technology education for the construction equipment industry and domestic and international employment linkage programs through this agreement.
 
HD Hyundai Construction Equipment President Choi Cheol-gon stated, “In this era of industrial transition characterized by digital transformation and adoption of eco-friendly technologies, it is more important than ever to cultivate talent equipped with advanced technical and practical field capabilities,” adding, “We will contribute to strengthening national competitiveness through customized education development and industry-academic technology exchange.”
